2015 Aspirations: total over 1200 raw at 148. I'd love to see it break down something like this: 475 squat, 255 bench, 500 deadlift. I've squatted 475 in wraps in the gym, but not clean. Bench, I've hit 237 in a meet, so another 15-20 lbs this year seems reasonable. I've deadlifted 475 and have had to work around some injuries and lack of creativity with my deadlift training, but 500 seems well within reach as well. This would give me a 1230 total. Anything above that would be gravy this year as far as I'm concerned. Can't wait to see what some quality coaching/programming will do for my lifts!

Testing Cycle
Week 1, Squat A

Low Bar Squat
135x5
225x5
315x5
365x5 RPE@7.5

High Bar Squat
225x5
315x5
345x5 RPE@7.5-8
Went a little higher on RPE than I should have, but was dealing with some fatigue from a weekend session. These probably would have been true 7's on a fresh day.

Testing Cycle
Week 1, Bench A

Close Grip, Paused
95x5
135x5
165x5 RPE@7
Left shoulder felt unstable with these. Some minor pain anteriorly with any significant close grip loading.

Wide Grip, Paused
135x5
165x5
185x5 RPE@7 Felt better than close grip, but not great overall. I'm not a great pressed as is, but this felt like a bit of a down day.

Finally getting some video to work. Here is footage from squatting the other day. Bench will be up soon as well.

Here's the bench work. Pretty paltry. I guess I did 6 on the first set instead of 5.

Here are the beltless squats, pause squats, moderate grip bench, and slingshot bench.

And here are a bunch more random test lifts from this week. Had a rough week and did a terrible job getting everything in. The organization was terrible as well.

Adding some sumo deadlift footage. 475 is a tie with my lifetime PR that I hit before a back injury derailed training a bit. Felt good to be able to hit it again. I know that will move this year finally.

Thanks Andy!! Feeling pretty mediocre right now, but beyond excited to be part of the team. Looking forward to evolving as a competitor in the next few months and years. Your training looks like it's going really well!! Keep it up, man!

I have been working with Kyle for about 1.5 years now my lifting has really turned around. He switched me to a low bar squat from a high bar squat. My bench was a disaster and we applied some fixes (not perfect yet) and my deadlift has started to take off in the past 6 months. You are in good hands.

Two days worth of training. Bench 190x4x5. Supposed to be 4+ on last set but was already tempting fate with no spotter. Press 85x8x3, definitely a major weakness. No video.

Deadlift 405x3x3 felt great
Front Squat 205x8x3, felt like cardio. Ish.
